About
This Tour

Introduce the kids to the African wild as you traverse the glittering island sanctuaries of the Okavango Delta, the spectacular watercourse of the Savuti Channel and the braided tributaries of the Zambezi River by foot, truck, and dugout canoe.

  • Say hello to the family of hippos who have declared the ancient riverine forests surrounding Seba Camp their home
  • Search for leopards, lions, giraffes, and cheetah along the Savuti Channel, whose waters (once dry) returned in 2008, bringing with them an abundance of wildlife
  • Spy on elephants, hippos and sunbathing crocodiles from the safety of a wooden walkway snaking through your camp in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park
  • Learn to decipher the difference between warthog, wildebeest, and wild dog footprints and scat on a guided walk through the bush
  • Take in the misty majesty of the mighty Victoria Falls, towering 350-feet tall and 5,600-feet wide
  • Wrap up your day in the comfort of your luxurious, family-friendly camp with a swim in a refreshing plunge pool, a visit to the tree-house, and dinner under the stars in a traditional African boma

We loved it and can't wait to go again. The kids were planning the next trip on the way to the airport.

Tour Itinerary

8 days/7 nights

Maun, Botswana (MUB)/Livingstone, Zambia (FLLI)

Day 1: Seba Camp
Day 2: Seba Camp
Day 3: Savuti Camp
Day 4: Savuti Camp
Day 5: Savuti Camp
Day 6: Toka Leya Camp - Zambia
Day 7: Toka Leya Camp - Zambia
Day 8: Toka Leya Camp - Zambia

Nights 1 & 2: Seba Camp

Seba Camp blends beautifully into the ancient riverine forest of majestic hardwood trees – predominantly sycamore fig, magosteen and leadwood, against which it is built. Overlooking a perennial lagoon with prolific birdlife and visiting pods of hippo, Seba Camp has eight well-appointed, spacious tents elevated from the ground - each celebrating one of the different tribes of Botswana through vibrant décor.

Nights 3 to 5: Savuti Camp

With the Savuti Channel becoming a flowing waterway again in 2008 (previously dry since 1980), the Camp gives its visitors a front row seat to all of the action as the wildlife adapt to the new source of water. Enjoy nature’s dramas from the camp's thatched dining area or large viewing area with fire pit that extends outward on raised wooden decks, providing a wonderful view.

Nights 6 & 7: Toka Leya Camp

Overlooking the mighty Zambezi River and some of its islands is Toka Leya Camp, consisting of 12 spacious en-suite safari-style tents. Wooden walkways snake between the units and main area, limiting our footprint on this pristine area.

A few more reasons why you've gotta go…

    • 1. Have you ever had a rock balancing contest? Balancing rocks is a national symbol of Botswana.
    • 2. With approximately 11 cubic kilometers of water spreading over the 6,000-15,000 km² area each year, the Okavango Delta was declared one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa.
    • 3. Many different species live in the Okavango Delta, including the African Wild Dog. These endangered hunting dogs are some of the fastest animals on the planet and their unique “painted” coats are not to be missed on this adventure.
