From Barfleur to Bayeux, soak up six days of sweeping coastline, rolling woodlands and charming ports while reliving a pivotal chapter in American history on this six-day family-friendly Normandy adventure.

Tour Itinerary

6 days/5 nights

Paris, France (CDG or ORY)

Day 1: St-Vaast
Meals Included:  L, D
Overnight: Hotel la Granitière

We meet in Paris in the morning and begin the day with a transfer to the picturesque harbor town of St-Vaast.

After enjoying a lunch, join your guide on your first bike ride! This short afternoon ride gives you the opportunity to try out the bikes as you cycle through the flat countryside and to the sea.

Tonight, join your guides and fellow travelers for a grand welcome dinner at Restaurant France et Fuchsia.

About Hotel la Granitière
Located in the center of a small fishing port, Hotel La Granitière is a delightful hotel surrounded by the lush Normandy countryside. The local oysters are reputed to be some of the finest in France, and the sheltered location encourages almost tropical vegetation.

The hotel has a friendly owner, charming bedrooms, a garden terrace, plenty of attractions, and nearby sightseeing.

Day 2: St-Vaast
Meals Included:  B, L
Overnight: Hotel la Granitière

Today's loop takes us to Barfleur, a charming fishing port with granite houses dating back to the 17th century.

Earn some great views by climbing 233 feet to the top of the lighthouse at Pointe de Barfleur, it's one of the tallest in France.

Make your way back to St-Vaast on a spectacular route through rolling woodlands and pastures.

Spend the night strolling around St-Vaast and dining at one of the many amazing restaurants.

Day 3: Bayeux
Meals Included:  B, D
Overnight: Chateau de Sully

Fuel up with a warm breakfast before saddling up for another breathtaking ride. Visit the seaside resort at Quinéville en route to WWII sights at Ste-Mère Église and Utah Beach.

There's ample time to visit memorials, museums and D-Day beaches before heading to Isigny, made famous by its creamy sweet butter.

About Chateau de Sully
Step back in time as you enter the gates of this historic French chateau. The beautiful gardens and classic architecture are a perfect complement to the luxurious and relaxing rooms overlooking the beautiful property.

Soak in the Jacuzzi, pamper yourself with a massage, indulge in some of the exquisite cuisine, or enjoy one of the many other amenities that Chateau de Sully offers.

Day 4: Bayeux
Meals Included:  B, L, D
Overnight: Chateau de Sully

On Day 4, a short transfer will take you from Bayeux to La Cambe where you will begin your ride. Today's loop stops at the military cemetery at Omaha Beach and the German military battery at Pointe du Hoc.

Stop for a delicious meal at Omaha Beach before finishing the rest of your beautiful ride, and end the day visiting the colorful Bayeux tapestry, over 90 yards in length, embroidered with vivid illustrations of William the Conqueror's conquest of England.

Tonight stroll in the lovely old town of Bayeux, with its half-timber houses and fine shops before we dine on pizza, pasta and salad.

Day 5: Bayeux
Meals Included:  B, D
Overnight: Chateau de Sully

Get ready for a day of rich history as you head out for a loop ride to nearby WWII sights and experience a 360 degree war documentary. The route includes Gold Beach, the "artificial invasion harbor" at Arromanches, and the German observation post at Longues sur Mer.

Later, spend more time in Bayeux and visit the many interesting shops and museums. Enjoy a marvelous farewell dinner, indulging in the region's fine ‘surf & turf’ specialties.

Day 6: Paris
Meals Included:  B

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Paris for your departure home.

  • On Day 1, we will meet you in the lobby of Grand Hotel Bedford (8th arrondissement) in Paris at 8:30 a.m.
  • After a transfer to St-Vaast, lunch and briefing, the intro bike ride begins.
  • After breakfast on Day 6, we take you to the airport, train station, or the hotel of your choice in Paris (three hour transfer).
