From the Acropolis of Athens to Milo”™s extraordinary caldera, this adventure takes you deep into the heart of Greece”™s most beautiful Cycladic Islands. Soak up the knowledge of an expert guide as you tour the Acropolis and the Parthenon. The new Acropolis Museum was opened in 2010 and no expense was spared to turn this into the most beautiful museum of Greece. Photograph the classic Greek town of Chora Village, complete with its white houses, colorful flowers and pristine churches. Try your hand at traditional Greek fare in a private cooking class, paddle the azure waters around Milos by kayak, and soak up a postcard-perfect sunset over the Aegean Sea as you toast the day over a prized dessert wine of Vinsanto. Take a walk around the shops of Sifnos, now known for its pottery, basket weaving and cookery. Come explore Hellas with the experts in adventure travel!

Upon arrival to Athens, transfer to your hotel for check in.

In the evening meet with your guide for a short walking tour of Athens and enjoy a welcome dinner in a traditional Greek tavern in the old part of Athens, in Plaka, overlooking the Acropolis.

Royal Olympic Hotel is a family run five star property in the center of Athens. The hotel lies just in front of the famous Temple of Zeus and National Garden. It is underneath the Acropolis and only two minutes”™ walk to the new Acropolis Museum. In 2009, the Royal Olympic was transformed to an art hotel very elegantly decorated and customized in every detail.

The Roof Garden Restaurant - Bar opened recently offering the ultimate dinning and wining experience in front of the most spectacular view in Athens. The famous chef will be delighted to guide you through the secret paths of Greek cuisine while you enjoy the unforgettable view.

Day 2: Athens/Kythnos

After breakfast, head out on a half day sightseeing tour of Athens, the hostess of the Olympic Games in 2004.

Visit Acropolis, the greatest monument in the Western world, the Parthenon and Panathinaikon Stadium, the stadium where the first Olympic games were held in 1896. You'll enjoy a delicious lunch at the New Acropolis museum and take in the incredible sights. Later, our cultural experience will take us to Sounio where we will have the chance of visiting the famous temple of Poseidon.

Our sailing boat will be waiting to take us to the beautiful island of Kythnos. When we reach the amazing beach of Kolona, we will have our evening swim and enjoy a lovely dinner on board.

About Catamaran Lagoon 450

The Lagoon 450 is the perfect platform for sailing the Aegean Sea. The foredeck offers a 360 degree view for the helmsman, and the large settee and sunbed can comfortably accommodate friends and family. Forward, there lies plenty of deck space and a recessed cushioned area with deep storage lockers underneath. The table to port can sit 5-8 for dinner, or can be converted to a coffee table, or removed completely for dancing or cocktails. The main cabin, on the same level as the cockpit, has sliding doors that open wide””including to the front of the galley, which is perfect for handing out food and drinks. It's truly a balcony on the water. The Lagoon 450 is a luxury ship, ideal for families or friends looking for the highest level of comfort on board.

Day 3: Kythnos / Serifos

After our lovely breakfast on board we do a short sail to the port of Merichas and we will be transferred by private motor coach or taxis to the Chora of Kythnos, where our hike begins.This exceptional hike is considered to be one of the best on the Cycladic islands in general!

After a short exploration of Chora and Panagia tou Nikous we will walk through amazing paths with wonderful views to the neighboring islands, crossing large flat stones toward Aghios Georgios and visit the virgin sandy beach of Aghios Ioannis. This loop walk takes us back to Chora, where our transfers will take us to Kanala to board our sailing boat for our next destination, the beautiful island of Serifos.

Day 4: Serifos

Starting from Chora, today we will cycle through a wonderful route full of beautiful sceneries and interesting cultural locations.

We will discover some of the most spectacular corners of the island, visiting villages, cliffs, small chapels, hidden beaches, abandoned mines, and monasteries.

Later in the evening the group will enjoy dinner in a local tavern.

Day 5: Sifnos

Today we begin our sailing experience headed to Sifnos, one of the most “fulfilled” Greek islands. Sifnos has very pleasant beaches, idyllic villages and a large variety of beautiful hikes.

Our boat will reach Fykiada bay, which is our hiking starting point for today. Today”™s walk literally takes us away from modern civilization! It is a loop walk containing one of the best parts of the Sifnos trails network, the descent toward the bay of Fykiada.

Our boat will pick us up to take us to the bay of Vathy, the most beautiful beach village on the island.
We will enjoy dinner in Vathy at a local tavern.

Day 6: Sifnos

After our mighty breakfast we will get transferred to Apollonia. It is considered to be the cosmopolitan spot of Sifnos, full of shops, cafes and taverns. We will walk along the narrow, principal streets of the settlement and take in the architectural elements and some interesting churches along the way.

Our trail leads us to a hidden valley with the name of “Skafi”. We will be able to view ruined monasteries, caves, and spectacular sea views. We will rest at the beautiful church of Panagia tou Niliou, with its “Aegean balcony”, where we will have our picnic lunch .

We continue to mavro Chorio (“Black Village”) with its impressive huts, terraces and magnificent gates. Our path leads us to the spring of Kalamitsi and between two huge crags, the “Froudia baronas” crags. On top of the larger crag, there is a prehistorical citadel. We continue our hike on this ancient trail descending to the bay of Vathy, preparing ourselves for a wonderful dip into the sea.

Today we will have the chance to be part of a “small cooking lesson” during the preparation of our Greek cuisine dinner along with our guide and skipper!

Day 7: Milos

Early in the morning we sail to Milos, a volcanic island in the south-western corner of the Cycladic Islands. Our catamaran will disembark us at the fishing village of Pollonia, where our hike starts for today.
This trail gives us the chance to see the infamous Sarakiniko, with its lunar landscape. We will also be able to see Papafraga, the famous archaeological site of Filakopi (one of the most important cities of the Greek prehistoric era with ruins of the magnificent cyclopean walls) and the beautiful settlement of Mandrakia. We will end our expedition at Mandrakia's stunning white sand beach and turquoise crystal clear waters.

After our swim, the boat will pick up us up in order to take us to the bay of Adamas, the largest natural harbor in Greece and one of the safest anchorage places in the entire Mediterranean. Tonight we will have the opportunity to visit the beautiful town of Adamas and have the opportunity to sample the local cuisine in a local tavern.

Day 8: Milos / Athens

Today”™s kayak experience takes us to see spectacular rock formations, sea caves, natural arches and passages, huge cliffs, secluded coves, and deserted beaches.We will also have the chance to snorkel in breathtaking turquoise waters and during our lovely paddling activity we will enjoy our picnic lunch on a beach.

Later in the evening we will get transferred to the airport to catch our flight back to Athens for a farewell dinner in Athens.

Additional Trip Information

Arrival and Departures

We recommend that you arrive into Athens on Day 1 of your trip. Transfer to the Royal Olympic Hotel on your own (private transfers can be arranged) for some downtime before you meet up with your guide for an evening walking tour of Athens and a traditional Greek dinner. Your trip ends with a flight back to Athens on Day 8 and an overnight stay at the Royal Olympic Hotel that night. From Athens on Day 9, you may follow through with your post trip travel plans or flights home.

Pre-departure Information

After receiving your reservation and deposit, we”™ll send you a pre-trip planner with general information about the area you”™ll be visiting, a packing list, exercise guidelines, a guest information questionnaire and a liability release agreement for you to sign and return within 10 days.

Activities

Walking/Hiking: Relatively easy walks (3 ”“ 5 hours per day) on a mixture of dirt tracks and well-constructed stone mule paths. On the coast, you will walk on sand and shingle for some stretches.

Cycling: 15 ”“ 25 miles, moderate, rolling hills.

Kayaking: No experience neccessary, equipment & instruction provided.
