About
This Tour

One of Europe's least traveled destinations, Slovenia's fjord-like lakes, thundering waterfalls, rolling wine country and spectacular Julian Alps are begging to be explored.

  • Explore the 1,000 year old Skofja Loka, considered one of Slovenia's most beautifully preserved medieval towns
  • Paddle around the 15th century church perched on an island in the midst of Bend Lake and sip aperitifs on the terrace of the fairytle Bled Castle
  • Bike to the town of Kransjka Gora (home to the Alpine Skiing World Cup) pausing to snap photographs of the surrounding Karavanke Mountains
  • Retrace the footsteps of the soldiers who fought in the Battle of Coporetto on a visit to the WWI Musuem in Kobarid
  • Raise a glass of the local ruby-red wine as you kick back in the comfort of your hotel overlooking the unspoiled mountain enclave of the Julian Alps

The guides were outstanding. The restaurants were fabulous. The bikes were great. The scenery was like a beautiful fairytale. In one word - fabulous.

A few more reasons why you've gotta go…

  • 1. We love countries that appreciate food and Slovenia has lots of fun quirky food festivals including the Salt Makers’ Festival, Cabbage Festival, Chestnut Sunday, and Bean Day to name a few.
  • 2. More of a wine fan? Slovenia is home to the oldest vine in the world. Cleverly named, the Old Vine is over 400 years old and annually still bears between 35 and 55 kilos of red grapes for producing wine.
  • 3. Couples can still get married in the church on Bled Island but the groom better be in good shape. Tradition says that he must carry his bride up the 99 steps to ensure a long and happy marriage.
