When it comes toÂ cyclingÂ tours, what most don’t know is that the Mickelson Trail is on the list of many cyclists to-do list. The trail offersÂ a great way to get out and explore the countryside of South Dakota. Part of the Rails to Trails, the Mickelson Trail is an old railbed. constructed in 1890 it operated as a dedicated route until 1983.Â You can cycle the entire trail in one day or split it out into a few days. The trail was named after the state governor George S Mickelson. Established in this cycling trail Adventure is a total of 110 miles.
