Wheels of ChangeWheels of Change International is a non-profit organization that provides mobility to members of  developing communities in Africa through the gift of bicycles.  Founded by Dan Austin, WOC collects used bikes in the US and ships a full container to a designated town. Once there, a WOC representative teaches the local townspeople bicycle maintenance and turns the empty container into a bike repair shop for the community. ALA’s Featured Recipe
NamibiaLocal Bite: Braai (Barbeque) Rub
Mix all of the spices together in a bowl.  Rub it on your meat of choice before cooking.  For a wet rub, add oil (such as vegetable) to the spice mixture until it becomes a paste.  Once you’ve rubbed the meat, cook it to your desired temperature and enjoy!  (The dry version of this rub can be stored in an air-tight container for several months.)
*South Africa’s melange of cultures can notably be seen in its culinary traditions.  With European, Asian and African influences, its food has a unique blend of flavors and combinations.  The braai (or barbeque) can be made of almost any animal, and is rubbed in a mixture of spices before being cooked over an open fire.  It is most often enjoyed with a glass of local beer and friends.

-1 teaspoon oregano
-1 teaspoon basil
-1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
-1 teaspoon black pepper
-1 tablespoon dried thyme
-1 tablespoon onion powder
-1 tablespoon garlic powder
