Adventure Travel Consultant

Austin Adventures is searching for an Adventure Travel Consultant to drive sales and achieving booking targets for our domestic travel products (scheduled group tours and private custom trips). In this role, you will engage in direct inbound and outbound sales efforts, and work with both B2B and B2C. In addition to sales, this role requires strong organizational skills as you’ll be responsible for additional account management and customer service efforts. Teamwork and a positive company-first attitude are critical. The Adventures Sales Consultant will answer directly to Austin’s Head of Sales and work side-by-side with the company’s sales and operations teams.


❖ Primary point of contact for guests throughout all aspects of the customer sales cycle: including all aspects of sales, booking, account management, and customer service
❖ Selling active adventure vacations
❖ Work in conjunction with other Travel Consultants towards company targets
❖ Learn and sell a diverse portfolio of US Domestic Scheduled Group Tours
❖ Fulfill inquires, design, package, and sell US Domestic Private Custom Trips
❖ Proactively sell Trip Insurance to guests
❖ Conduct outgoing Sales calls to established guests or prospects
❖ Assist with answering incoming calls
❖ Become an expert with our reservation system Peak 15 & CRM system HubSpot
❖ Study the travel industry and our competitor’s products
❖ Manage time effectively, meet personal sales goals and work effectively with other members of the team
❖ Have a passion for the outdoors and travel
❖ Follow Annual Sales plan initiatives
❖ Follow company policies and procedures
❖ Represent the company with vendors, clients both inside and outside the industry in the highest light possible, projecting a positive and quality-based image at every opportunity.


❖ 2 years’ Adventure Travel Industry experience selling group or custom product
❖ 2 years’ experience in customer service or support
❖ Undergraduate degree or higher (preferably in a field related to Travel/ Tourism or similar)
❖ High-functioning, independent self-starter
❖ Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to establish immediate rapport with guests
❖ Good scheduling, follow up and time management skills
❖ Detail orientated
❖ Proactive thinking and a problem solver
❖ Personable, outgoing, and self-motivated
❖ Absolutely no drama attitude
