About
This Tour
More than almost any other destination, Tanzania is the land of safaris. Wildebeest graze across the grasslands. Hippos jostle for space in muddy waterways. Elephants mosey along seasonal migration routes and chimpanzees swing through the treetops. When this dazzling array of wildlife isn’t enough, it’s possible to make a safari of a lifetime all the more memorable and unique in a Bush Rover Suite, a full working Land Rover that converts into a mobile hotel suite, complete with a balcony. Your Bush Rover allows you to move to the right places for wildlife viewing, no matter the time of year, an unique opportunity to experience this beautiful solitude in total comfort. What more could you want in a safari?
  • Come explore a country that has the largest concentration of wildlife animals per square mile, with more than four million wild animals and representatives of 430 species and subspecies!
  • Were you aware that over 120 languages are spoken in Tanzania (most of these are Bantu languages)!
  • Did you know that Tanzania is divided into 26 regions (mikoa) and further divided into 99 districts (wilaya)?
  • Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing opportunities.
  * Ask your Adventure Consultant for more details on a four-night extension in Zanzibar. ** Trip itineraries are subject to change without notice due to road, weather and other factors outside of our control, for the safety and enjoyment of our guests, as deemed necessary and appropriate by Austin Adventures The Bush Rover Company.

In the afternoon, enjoy a gentle canoe ride through the narrow water channels of Lake Victoria dwarfed by huge papyrus grasses and teeming with some of the best birdlife you will see in Africa. Head back to camp for lunch and in the late afternoon take a walk amongst the local farms (“shamba”) and around the area to marvel at one of the greatest birding sites on Earth. The Bush Rover nights are all about the great wildebeest migration and this is definitely the way to see it, right in its heart but not shared with anybody else.

A few more reasons why you've gotta go:
  • 1. Learn about one of the world’s favorite beverages by doing, from picking the coffee beans, to roasting them, and finally grinding, brewing, and drinking your own cup.
  • 2. The landscape and wildlife of Africa are some of the most majestic and awe-inspiring on the planet.
  • 3. Going off-road in a Land Rover on the African savannah is awesome enough, but converting the truck into a plush hotel suite-on-wheels means you can hear the roar of the lions from the safety and comfort of your vehicle.
  • 4. They don’t call it the Great Migration for nothing – follow herds of magnificent Wildebeest as they cross the Mara River, far from crowds of tourists.
  • 5. Wrap up a stunning trip with walks along pristine, palm-lined beaches. Ahh, paradise.
