Day 1
Day 1:
Jackson Arrival | Grand Teton National Park | Jenny Lake Bike Ride | Rendezvous Peak Tram Ride
Welcome to Wyoming! This morning, you’ll head to Grand Teton National Park where you’ll soak up the beauty of the picture-perfect Cathedral Group: Nez Perce, Middle Teton, Grand Teton, Mount Owen, and Teewinot. Set off on a mostly flat, 16-mile roundtrip bike ride for epic views of the soaring jagged peaks in the park, stopping midway to explore the beautiful views at Jenny Lake. Later, you’ll venture to the crest of Jackson Hole Ski Resort’s Rendezvous Peak via tram. Hike atop the crest and soak in the stunning views of the Tetons, Jackson Hole valley, and surrounding mountain ranges. During the ride, be sure to keep an eye out for local wildlife like bears, moose, eagles, and mule deer.
About Rustic Inn
This luxury lodge is everything but ‘rustic.’ Located on seven lush acres adjacent to the National Elk Refuge and just a few blocks from Jackson’s lively town square, the Rustic Inn Creekside Resort & Spa welcomes guests with warm Western hospitality. Outdoor enthusiasts and hedonists alike indulge in the lavishly appointed historic lodging accommodations and luxury log cabins, state of the art resort amenities, revitalizing spa, innovative cuisine, year-round Wyoming activities and an idyllic setting. Relax in the outdoor heated pool, Jacuzzi and sauna, or take a walk along the beautifully landscaped trails beside Flat Creek.
A full-day exploration of the world’s first national park is on tap for today! The trip to Yellowstone from Jackson requires a bit of a drive, but it’s well worth the time and there’ll be plenty of chances to stretch your legs. Stroll the boardwalks around Upper Geyser Basin, spying bubbling mud pots, technicolor hot springs, and steaming geysers along the way – including a stop for a “performance” of the park’s most famous geyser, Old Faithful. Enjoy short hikes to see some of the wonders of the park like the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, a deep, jagged canyon full of dynamic color and steamy rushing waters.
Spring Creek Ranch Horseback Ride | Snake River Raft | Night On Your Own
This morning, the wild west comes alive as you saddle up and set out for a two-hour horseback ride atop East Gros Ventre Butte. As you head along the trail with a local wrangler, you’ll feast your eyes on one-of-a-kind views of Grand Teton National Park, the town of Jackson, and the Teton Mountain Range. After a picnic lunch, get ready to get wet and get your heart pumping as you raft through some of Wyoming’s finest whitewater in the Snake River Canyon. You’ll encounter about 8 sets of rapids during your ride through the scenic canyon, ranging from class I and II to class III. Tonight, you’ll enjoy a night on your own. Your guides have recommendations for everything from restaurants to things to do and even takeout ideas if you’re looking to relax after a full day.
Along the calm waters of Jackson Lake, Mount Moran and the rest of the Teton Range seem to rise straight from the lake’s far shore. You’ll be in prime position to take in their glory from the seat of your kayak, casually paddling along the crystal waters at a relaxed and casual pace. This afternoon, stretch your legs with a hike around String Lake. This easy 3.7-mile loop offers up incredible views and the opportunity to cool off in the lake’s calm, shallow waters. Your guides will drop you off at the trailhead so you can hike the loop at your own pace. As you circle the lake, you’ll get views of Mount St. John, Rockchuck Peak, and the Jackson Hole Valley.
Enjoy a leisurely morning where you can sleep in, eat a late breakfast, visit the spa or wander the streets of Jackson to soak in its charm before you depart for the airport. Our guides will shuttle you to the Jackson Hole Airport or your Jackson post-trip hotel for your afternoon departure.
