Here you have the opportunity to spot animals like bears, bison, deer, elk, pronghorn, and wolves roaming the wilderness. Once we’ve had our fill of drinking in Lamar’s beauty, we’ll sit down to a picnic lunch. We make our way back to Sage Lodge where you may opt to head out on a guided afternoon hike or enjoy the relaxing amenities and views. Tonight, we dine together in the lodge’s dining room.
Grand Canyon of Yellowstone / West Yellowstone
After breakfast, we take a morning drive to the Canyon area of Yellowstone National Park. The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River, about 20 miles long, expresses the park’s complex geologic history in dramatic colors and shapes. Immerse yourself in the landscape as you trek the Wapiti Trail through wildflower meadows, lodgepole pine forests, and eventually a steaming backcountry geyser basin. Ultimately, we’ll end our wonderful hike at Artist Point with a classic view of the Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River. Following a trailside picnic lunch, we drive to West Yellowstone to check into our accommodation. Later we’ll chow down on a barbeque feast.
