“I’ve traveled each and every highway, but more, much more than this, I did it my way.” – Frank Sinatra
We here at Austin Adventures take inspiration from this quote; in fact, we can ascribe much of our success to letting our adventure family do things their way. The resounding success we have had as a company and as a family in the last four decades can be attributed not only to our rugged, independent Montanan spirit but to the tireless work of our accomplished team. We’re beyond proud to serve as your premier home-grown and family-run adventure travel resource. While much of our beloved industry has turned to large-scale operations, we pride ourselves on remaining small and personal just for you.
National sources seem to agree with our take on travel. Travel writer Everett Porter raved about us in a small publication you may have heard of by the name of Forbes. Potter focused on the journey which has allowed our company to emerge as a champion of family travel. We like to think that this is due to our team embracing and understanding what makes families tick – both ours and yours. As well, both Shape Magazine and USA Today not long ago published glowing allusions to Austin Adventures. We are honored to be the recipient of the following acknowledgments:
Our Wonderful Team
On the topic of families, we want to recognize one more family who make priceless contributions to our business; our workplace team. We would never have been able to achieve the fantastic heights which we have now reached without the enthusiastic efforts of both our office and field teams. The passion for adventure travel and the benefits it brings shared by our specialists is unmatched industry wide, and for that, we are endlessly thankful.
Lately, a crucial venture for our gang has been designing and optimizing our new mobile friendly website; thanks to their effort, the digital presence of Austin Adventures is now faster and better than ever. New guests, alumni, and everyone in between can now browse for trips at their leisure using simple qualifiers such as destination, type of activities, level of challenge and who will be traveling.
Austin Concierge Service and Austin Collection
Want a personalized vacation without worrying about strategizing? With the new Austin Concierge service launched in 2019, you can give yourself and your family the gift of a hand-crafted itinerary, custom selected lodging, and a turn-key holiday built to your every specification. Or, if you prefer to plan your vacation more independently, the hand selected platter of Austin Collection properties has been enhanced! Our founder and CEO Dan Austin personally testifies to the quality and charm of these accommodations, and wants to share them openly with families like his own.
Travel Agent Portal
Along the lines of refurbishing, our Travel Agent Portal has gotten a facelift as well! Professionals can now swiftly and conveniently partner with us, receive unparalleled sales assistance, timely information relating to tours, and access education on how to become an Austin Adventures’ travel specialist! These benefits are also accompanied by a generous 12 percent commission when booking through our company; we’ve truly got it all!
2019 has been an incredible year already, and it isn’t even halfway through. However, at Austin Adventures, we’ve always got our eyes on the future. Our 2020 Catalog was mailed in the beginning of August. This new catalog contains all our tried and true destinations listed beside thrilling new prospects (including two new itineraries in New Zealand, a new France/Spain multisport itinerary, and wine country adventures in California and Champagne, France, among many others.)
Finally, we would like to introduce three new travel specialists who are working tirelessly to not only uphold the Austin Adventures standard of touring but to elevate it for our staff and guests alike:
Tim Easley, our new Africa specialist, has been creating and selling adventures around the globe for over a decade. Tim has what it takes to wow you and your clientele. But it was a lifetime of travels that provided him with the foundation to pursue a career in travel. Born into a family of travelers, he spent his youth living in countries as far off and exotic as India and Tanzania.
Olivia Hintz, Austin Adventures’ European specialist, is a small-town Montana girl with a grand work ethic. Olivia had her eyes opened to the world of travel, especially Europe when she studied in England. Weekends found her catching a train and exploring the countryside by rail. She has quickly developed a connection with our European guides and uses them as her go-to, getting the inside scoop to make sure each guest receives what they are looking for.
April Myers is our dedicated National Parks and North America specialist. She came to Austin Adventures after years working in early childhood education. Combine that experience and love of children with her adoration of nature, in-depth knowledge of Yellowstone, Montana, and Wyoming (her backyard), and her steadfast commitment to meet your desires, and you have a winning formula to help create the perfect family (or adult) adventure.
Simply Stated … Thank You!
It has been a great year, filled to the brim with exciting travels, new family members, and comprehensive media attention. We love hearing from friends all over the globe, and so dearly wish we could honor every request we receive from those of you in the media who want to travel with us. As we move into the second half of 2019, please don’t forget that we are always happy to consider qualified writers for spaces on our adventures; simply reach out to us! Our staff is always itching to talk, whether it be a formal interview or a simple conversation on the future of adventure travel as a whole.
From all of us here at Austin Adventures to you and yours, we wish you fair winds and smooth sailing this Summer and beyond!
