He’s traveled extensively in Europe, Asia, & South America and is fluent in Spanish. Hobbies include; running, swimming, reading, hiking with his wife, kids, and chocolate lab, Thor.

“Waking up every day and knowing that I get to help people plan the trip of their lifetime gives me a thrill. Travel is not only about seeing new places, but experiencing new cultures through taste, smell, and all the other senses. To develop a tour that gives my client all this and more is a job that I find immensely rewarding.”

What’s your favorite vacation destination:

I had the opportunity to spend two weeks in Vietnam and Thailand in 2019 and it’s by far been my favorite place to visit.

What is your favorite historical site, castle, museum, etc?

I’m somewhat of a history buff and I have a fascination with European history and their royals. London Tower has been my favorite historical site thus far and I’ve been THREE times!

What is your favorite hike?

Locally, I enjoy hiking at Ramapo Valley Reservation in NJ. It boosts beautiful dog friendly trails, as well as many lakes and paths. If you’re adventurous enough to make it to the top of the mountain, you can get a glimpse of the NYC skyline in the distance on a clear day.

Internationally, I really recommend hiking El Yunque National Rainforest in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

What is your favorite bike ride?

My all-time favorite is the Route of the Waterfalls in Banos, Ecuador. The route takes you along the Andes Mountains, with the Tungurahua Volcano towering behind, with miles of beautiful flora and fauna. There are stops along the way with some beautiful views, trails, & bungee jumping.

What is your favorite trip to Guide?

By far its Cuba. I love guiding American’s and seeing them slowly realize that maybe some of their preconceptions about this beautiful country are wrong. It’s great to teach them about the music, food, culture, and complex history, especially the relationship between Cubans and Americans.

Favorite Movie?

The Departed

Favorite Book?

I read A LOT – so this is a tough one – my most recent favorite read was: The Lions of Lucerne by Brad Thor.

Favorite Song?

Currently – Saturdays by Twin Shadow

Most amazing experience while guiding a trip?

In 2016 I led a group to Cuba that was made up of Charlotte, SC Chamber of Commerce and newly elected mayor. It was great to explore the differences in our governments with politicians and business people who were interested in building bridges between their city and the people of Cuba.

When did you first catch the travel bug?

As I kid I would travel to Ecuador almost every summer and spend a few months there. This really instilled in me a passion for all aspects of travel, from boarding and flying on a plane all the way to my immense curiosity about all different cultures, foods, music, religions, etc.

What are your hobbies?

Running, hiking, reading, swimming, & traveling with my wife and kids!
