Kelly Palmer

Kelly Palmer was drawn to Montana for its wide-open spaces and adventurous lifestyle for many of the same reasons she is drawn to the world of travel. Kelly craves adventure and seeks out wild places and off the beaten path experiences, as well as those classic ‘not-to-be-missed’ spots and moments. Naturally, she wants to share this with others and works hard to ensure travelers get fantastic, life-changing experiences on every trip.

Although she moved a lot as a kid as an army brat, Kelly earned her Science and Environmental Studies degree at Mississippi State University, and then started working with an island resort in Belize before moving out west. She has worked in the travel, recreation and tourism industries since 2005, and has invaluable experience in the international and domestic adventure travel world.

Kelly lives in Bozeman, Montana with her husband and two dogs, where she rides bikes, camps her adventure van, and gets outside as much as possible.

What’s your favorite vacation destination(s)?

I love Peru. I love mountains, and those mountains are some of the best I’ve ever seen. The Inca history is fascinating and the Peruvian culture is charming. I also love the US Southwest for interesting landscapes, dark skies, artsy towns, ruins, a slower pace and plenty of adventure.

What is your favorite bike ride?

Umm… Any! I love to do week-long biking trips and take in towns, culture and sights from a bike saddle.

What is your favorite Austin Adventures trip?

I might have to say the San Juan Islands or South Dakota. I love being active and both of these trips are just that, taking in awesome sights in unique ways.

When did you first catch the travel bug?

I’m proud to say my parents instilled the travel bug in me at an early age. I learned to ski in Garmisch, Germany when I was 3 and they took me all over Europe shortly after.
