Manuel Rodriguez Estrada
Born and raised in Baja California Sur, Manuelito lived in Zacatecas, located on Mexico’s mainland, for three years. Manuel received a degree in mechanical engineering and has worked as a naturalist guide for the last 18 years. He is certified as a federal guide, first responder, and professional kayaker ( BCU 3 stars). Manuelito has a great deal of experience working in adventure tourism, conservation projects with NGOs, and kayak expeditions. He is incredibly passionate about nature and wildlife.
What’s your favorite vacation destination(s)?
Mexico mainland… and soon the world!!
What is your favorite historical site, castle, museum, etc.?
Museum of Bellas Artes, Mexico City.
What is your favorite hike?
I enjoy hiking in Sierra La Laguna and walking along the cliffside of Punta Lobos in Todos Santos.
What is your favorite bike ride?
Tracks along La Ventana Baja Sur.
What is your favorite Austin Adventures trip?
The Baja Trip, Swimming with Whale Sharks!!
Favorite Movie? A Life on our Planet by David Attenborough.
Favorite Book? The Aztec by Gary Jennings.
Favorite Song? What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong.
When did you first catch the travel bug?
From an early age, my grandpa used to take us on trips across Mexico on camping adventures.
What are your favorite outdoor activities?
Kayaking, snorkeling, freediving, and hiking.
What are your hobbies?
Playing music with my rock band and kayaking.
