Growing up in Jackson, Mississippi, Matthew was extremely fortunate to be in a place surrounded by rivers, swamps, and forests. Living there allowed him to experience the great outdoors through different activities, such as camping with the Boy Scouts or kayaking with friends. After high school, Matthew went to Flagler College in historic St. Augustine, FL. There, he was able to study abroad in Spain, Cuba, and Panama, and obtained an advanced level of Spanish. Additionally, during his time at Flagler College, he worked on a 76’ sailboat named Freedom and worked as a kayak/paddleboard guide. After graduating in 2019 with a BA in International Studies, Matthew backpacked over 500 miles across northern Spain on the Camino De Santiago. It was on this pilgrimage that he learned what he wanted to do with his life…Become a guide and educate people about new cultures and the great outdoors!
