Adventure Travel Consultant
Olivia was born and raised in Eastern Montana, but loves to get out and explore outside of her home state. She loves all of Europe, but has a special soft spot in her heart for England where she studied literature while in college.
Olivia is always down for an adventure, whether that is solo-backpacking through Europe, or car camping in Bozeman, Montana. Her travel experiences have been life-changing, and she has met many people around the world who she is honored to call her friends. Olivia loves the chance to give others those same, exciting experiences.
When not travelling, Olivia can usually be found cuddled up with a good book, a cup of tea, and her Boston Terrier, Pippa.
What’s your favorite vacation destination(s)?
I love all of Europe, but I’d have to say that Great Britain is my favorite destination. I lived there for a bit in college and love going back to reminisce (and have afternoon tea).
What is your favorite historical site, castle, museum, etc.?
My favorite historical sight is most definitely Edinburgh’s Old Town, because there is so much history throughout the area and the gothic architecture is stunning.
What is your favorite hike?
My favorite hike (more of a walk, really) was to the white chalk cliffs in Seven Sisters County Park in the south of England. The scenery on the way to the cliffs was beautiful, with green grass and roaming sheep. The cliffs themselves were magnificent, and I had the best nap of my life lying on the beach and listening to the waves crash onto the rocks.
What is your favorite bike ride?
I went on a bike tour through Paris for a day and it was an unforgettable experience. It was a little scary as we were constantly dodging the crazy Paris traffic, but I loved being able to see the city from a different perspective.
What is your favorite Austin Adventures trip?
Definitely the Holland: Amsterdam to Aachen trip. It has a great variety of activities, interesting WWII history, and on one day you even get to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner in different countries.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. No other movie makes me want to travel as much as that movie does. Every scene is beautiful, and Ben Stiller is great in it. I love to bake the clementine cake that appears multiple times in the film; it is delicious!
Recently I’ve been reading a lot of mystery books, my favorite of which has been the Cormoran Strike series by J.K. Rowling (under the pen name Robert Galbraith).
Anything by Paul Simon.
Describe the most amazing experience you’ve had while selling a trip.
I love hearing the excitement in people’s voices when they finally book their once-in-a-lifetime trip.
When did you first catch the travel bug?
I’ve had the travel bug for as long as I can remember. My family hosted quite a few exchange students when I was young, and I loved learning about their cultures and traditions (and eating the candy they would inevitably bring). That passion for learning about other cultures has followed me throughout life!
What are your favorite outdoor activities?
I love going on walks with my family and friends, especially early in the morning with my dog in tow.
What are your hobbies?
I love to bake, and can often be found reading through cookbooks like they’re novels.
