Hey, I’m Patti! I grew up in the little mountain town of Kimberley, BC but currently live in Golden, BC. Growing up, I spent my summers on motorbike camping adventures in Canada’s Arctic with my Dad or flying around in 2 seater planes with my Mom (she’s a pilot!) and winters skiing at our local hill with my family. These childhood experiences definitely got me hooked on a lifetime of adventure!
After high school, I spent a few years traveling to Central America and South East Asia before enrolling in the Mountain Adventure Skills Training Program in Fernie, BC. There I spent 10 months learning all sorts of skills about the backcountry (navigation, climbing, ice climbing, ski touring, whitewater rafting, etc.). After this, I spent a few summers raft guiding on some of the most beautiful rivers in the East Kootenays. During the winters, I worked (and still do!) at backcountry ski huts cooking up delicious food for hungry skiers, and also getting my fair share of pow turns in!
This is my first summer working for Austin Adventures and I’m super excited to meet everyone and go on some cool adventures.
What’s Your Favorite Destination?
It’s hard to pick just one! But I recently discovered the desert in Utah and the canyons and endless exploring blew my mind.
What’s Your Favorite Bike Ride?
Well, my mom and I are planning on riding our bikes on the Great Divide from Banff to Mexico in 2020 and although I haven’t done it yet, I’m pretty sure this is going to be my favourite one yet.

When Did You First Catch the Travel Bug?
Waaaaay up north in Canada’s Arctic (specifically Tuktoyaktuk in the Northwest Territories). It was just so wild to that a place so different from where I was from was in my own country. It sparked a lot of curiosity in 9-year-old Patti.
What are your Hobbies?
Ski touring, hiking, biking, trail running, mountaineering.
