Sarah Weber

Sarah was born in the sunshine state of Florida and raised in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She found herself drawn to the wonders of nature early on and spent much of her time exploring forests, splashing through creeks, and climbing anything and everything in sight! Her adventurous spirit and love of the outdoor world led her to major in Natural Resources, Recreation, and Tourism and receive her Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources from the University of Georgia. In college, she became an outdoor trip leader and had the exciting opportunity to lead caving, rock climbing, and backpacking trips.

Sarah’s curiosity for the unknown has sent her on journeys all around the globe. She has lead trips for guests of all ages and backgrounds and has met some pretty amazing people along the way. Some of her most favorite moments include bamboo rafting down the Mekong River in a thunderstorm, watching the sunrise from inside Angkor Wat temple, volcano boarding down Cerro Negro, and swimming under the stars with the magical glow of bioluminescence. With so many more beautiful memories to make and incredible people to meet, she is excited to see what adventures lie in store for her next!

What’s your favorite vacation destination? I’d have to say Montezuma, Costa Rica. It is a remote beach town that is somewhat difficult to get to, but its pristine beaches, lush jungles, cascading waterfalls, and secluded coves make the bumpy journey there worth it!

What’s your favorite hike? One of my favorite hikes is the beautiful Cinque Terre coastline trail in Italy. It features breathtaking views, a variety of wildflowers, salty ocean breezes, and colorful town vistas.

What’s your favorite bike ride? It is hard to say, but biking through the regal landscapes of the Gap of Dunloe and the magical ruins of the Aran Islands of Ireland are top contenders for sure.

Favorite movie? My favorites at the moment are About Time and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. I cry happy tears every time I see them and I just love a good moral. They will make your heart smile.

Favorite book? The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. The book takes you on a fantastic journey into the soul and it is what inspired me to go to Peru.

Favorite song? Wildflowers by Tom Petty is an all-time favorite.

When did you first catch the travel bug? I first caught the travel bug when I did a volunteer abroad trip to Nicaragua. I taught English, helped build a school out of sustainable materials, and got scuba certified to aid in a reef conservation project on Little Corn Island. We also got to go volcano boarding down the, still active, Cerro Negro Volcano!  I remember feeling the warm, comforting heat of the volcanic rock beneath my feet, the powerful wind whirling around me, and the strong smell of sulfur filling the air. It was a euphoric moment of utter bliss and I will most certainly never forget it.

What are your hobbies? Some of my favorite outdoor hobbies include biking, hiking, camping, and stargazing. I also love doing yoga, playing guitar, dancing, singing, collecting rocks from around the world, and wire wrapping stones to make jewelry.
