Luxembourg City, Luxembourg (LUX)

Day 1: Trier
Meals Included:  D
Overnight: Hotel Eurener Hof

We meet in the morning in the town of Luxembourg.

After a short transfer, saddle up in Diekirch, following the Sûre and Mosel rivers via the old monastic town of Echternach to your comfortable hotel in the imperial 2,000-year-old Roman City of Trier.

Then feast on hearty local specialties tonight!

About Hotel Eurener Hof
Originally a country inn, Hotel Eurener Hof is now a first class hotel. Four generations later, it still offers a friendly atmosphere and personalized service.

Its traditional architecture has been restored time and again by master craftsmen using natural materials such as hewn stone, wood and natural substances and textiles. Staying here is like being in a country house in the city.

Day 2: Neumagen

Overnight: Hotel zur Post

Before leaving Trier, be sure to visit some of the town's many historic sites.

  • Roman statues line your bike route and point the way to the historic wine town, Neumagen
  • Feel free to linger over Roman ruins and reconstructed villas, or stop in picturesque towns like Trittenheim before arriving at your charming hotel
  • Neumagen produces a variety of award-winning wines and you'll get to enjoy an exceptional wine tasting before dinner

After a wonderful meal at your hotel, relax in your room for the rest of the night.

About Hotel zur Post
Set beautifully on the Mosel River to the far west of Germany, zur Post provides a good base from which to visit the nearby towns and villages.

Enjoy elegant accommodations with modern facilities surrounded by vineyards and forests.

Day 3: Zeltingen

Overnight: Hotel St-Stephanus

Start the day with a guided walking tour along Neumagen's old streets, accompanied by your entertaining local historian.

Walk on the ancient Roman Road, discover countless artifacts and architectural treasures, and enjoy a rare opportunity to tour the magnificent gardens that grace this area.

After the walk, today's picturesque bike ride leads to historic Piesport and bustling Bernkastel. A more challenging side trip travels uphill for spectacular views of the valley and villages below - it's worth the climb!

Tonight you'll have lovely riverside views from your hotel in the resort town Zeltingen. Dine in style at your hotel’s gourmet restaurant tonight.

About Hotel St-Stephanus
Close to the historical market place, Hotel St-Stephanus is set in the midst of the sunny, picture-perfect landscape of the Mittelmosel.

In addition to elegant accommodations, you will also enjoy succulent dishes from the first-class gourmet kitchen.

Day 4: Cochem
Meals Included:  B
Overnight: Hotel Kessler-Meyer

Following the Mosel as it loops and bends, you'll pass busy river towns with plenty of shopping, snacking, and wine tasting.

Between towns, the cycling is relaxing and the scenery is lush, green, and delightful. The gated bridge at Traben-Trarbach is the perfect setting for sampling some famous German apple strudel, with or without Schlag.

Arrive in Cochem and spend the rest of the evening wandering the sights of this beautiful town.

About Hotel Kessler-Meyer
Located close to the center of town, Hotel Kessler-Meyer offers many relaxation options such as a cozy terrace, swimming pool with sauna, whirlpool and Roman steam-bath.

It’s also minutes from beautiful, narrow streets full of shops, galleries and restaurants.

Day 5: Koblenz
Meals Included:  B, L, D
Overnight: Hotel Mercure

Vineyards cover the surrounding hills like a patchwork quilt, cascading below the area's many castles.

Cochem's spectacular castle is in plain sight of the bike path, but Burg Eltz, the medieval wonder, is tucked deep in the woods.

Tonight join the group for a farewell dinner at one of cosmopolitan Koblenz's premier eateries.

A four-star hotel, Hotel Mercure is located right on the Rhine River in the city center of Koblenz. Here you will enjoy all the conveniences and comfort you expect with exceptional accommodations and a cordial and attentive staff. It presents one of the best breakfast buffets.

Day 6: Koblenz

Enjoy one more delicious breakfast before getting ready to head home.

At the appropriate time, your guide will transfer you to the Koblenz train station for your departure home.

  • On Day 1, we will meet you in the lobby of Mercure Grand Hotel Alfa in Luxembourg at 8:30 a.m.
  • After a briefing and a short transfer to Diekirch, the cycling begins.
  • After breakfast on Day 6 we take you to the train station in Koblenz to meet the train of your choice that will take you to your next destination, or we can transfer you back to Luxembourg (latter involves a 2 hour transfer).
